POSITION FUNCTION: Responsible for maintaining plant (inside and outside) in a neat, organized, sanitary, and safe condition; Operate various motorized equipment and vehicles as needed; Perform general maintenance of plant buildings and grounds as needed.  Accurately and completely conduct audits as scheduled; Perform miscellaneous tasks as needed.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Tasks:

1. Conduct audits as necessary (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, and as needed).
2. Sweep areas as assigned, primarily Assembly and Shipping Receiving areas, weekly or more often if needed.  Identify and clean areas needing special attention.
3. Clean shop break room as needed
4. Restock paper in offices as needed.
5. Operate forklift for all departments to deliver and/or move parts and equipment per specifications.
6. Collect garbage in all areas of plant at least twice per week using forklift.
7. Pick up parts and/or equipment using company truck as required.
8. Collect recycling in office and shop as needed
9. Actively participate in Freund Inc.’s Safety Committee
10. Perform grounds maintenance as needed
11. Perform miscellaneous repairs and general maintenance in all areas of the facility and grounds as needed
12. Assist with implementing and maintaining safety measures (clear paths to emergency equipment, appropriate signs, etc.)

 Discretionary Tasks:

1. Assist the quality, shipping, receiving, and assembly areas as needed.
2. Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Education: High School graduate or equivalent required.

1. Experience: Some general maintenance experience required. Prior forklift experience preferred.
2. Availability – This is considered a full-time position. Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
3. Relevant Skills: Must have valid driver’s license and meet the requirements of the company vehicle policy; Must be able to obtain an operator’s permit for forklift required; Must be able to be BBP certified. Must be able to be OSHA 30 certified.  Ability and willingness to follow directions.   Must be a self-starter who is able to effectively manage multiple tasks.  Must be motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
4. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds occasionally. May involve climbing and working at heights of 30-60 feet; Must be able to sit, reach, twist, and work in small, confined areas.
