Job Title: Electrical Assembler

Location: Marion, Iowa

Position Function: Assemble and debug all electrical components and/or equipment with a minimum of supervision and provide work direction to lesser experienced shop personnel in a manner that produces a product that meets or exceeds quality requirements and expectations with a minimum of labor expense while following all safety guidelines.

Required Education: High School graduate or equivalent required. Technical school training in electrical circuitry or equivalent experience preferred;

Required Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience in electrical assembly required.

Relevant Skills: Must be able to read blueprints, electrical schematics and pneumatic diagrams and understand both analog and digital circuits; Must understand selection criteria for electrical materials for specific applications; Must be able to layout electrical panels and be knowledgeable of electrical wiring systems maintenance and production; Must be able to perform hand drilling and tapping; Must be able to operate forklift. Must be able to work overtime, including nights and weekends. Some stress produced by electrical design errors and time pressure; Accuracy.

Physical Requirements: Requires some heavy lifting up to 60 lbs.; May involve climbing and working at heights of 30-60 feet; May be necessary to work in small, confined areas.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Tasks:

  1. Assemble/wire and/or repair all electrical aspects of FV equipment
  2. Test and adjust all electrical aspects of FV equipment per specifications during operational testing on machines prior to shipment.
  3. Assure that all assembled parts and equipment are complete and supplied to Shipping per project specification.
  4. Ensure that all reports on assembly problems and/or Engineering Change Orders encountered during the assembly process are turned into immediate supervisor upon completion of the machine.
  5. Maintain adequate personal supply of all hand tools required to perform duties of the position.
  6. Maintain cleanliness of own work area for safety and appearance reasons.

Discretionary Tasks:

  1. Maintain building electrical systems as required.
  2. Occasionally travel to customer site for installation of equipment as needed.
  3. Provide technical assembly support to the service department.
